Drift is now 14 months old. He has grown into a stunning looking dog, although he still has a long way to go to mature both in his body and brain. He is not what I would call an in your face dog. He is not the type of dog who likes to jump up at people and lick them all over, although if he likes you he will let you know! He is very respectful towards other dogs and enjoys to play with them, but will back off if they tell him to. He gets on really well with Blake and they have formed a close bond.
He has also formed a good relationship with my 2 children, Kayleigh (15 years) and Shaun (13 years) and loves to play football with Shaun or go for a walk with Kayleigh. He respects them and will do as they tell him.
As for his relationship with me, as I said before, he is not an in your face dog, however, he is always where I am. He will follow me from room to room and is always watching my face. He is always up for a game, I will often be sitting on the sofa and will have a toy dropped in my lap. While I am writing this he is trying to get my attention with a ball, however he will settle when told.
His obedience training is coming on very well. At Club, as soon as I move he is down on the floor before me. If I am on the floor with another dog I very often find him joining me. He was placed 4th in Novice in the first round we worked this year at Great Baddow show and we have been just outside the places in the other 2 novices he has worked. I have spent the rest of the season doing training rounds and have received lots of positive comments from Judges regarding him. I am also hoping to start agility training with him in the near future.
To sum up, Drift is a pleasure to have around and I cannot imagine life without him.
